The Seventh-day Adventist Church enjoys a rich legacy of women who have served in ministry. The preeminent example is Ellen White, who is arguably the most influential person in all the history of the denomination. There is good reason for this, obviously, since we believe she was in a special messenger role for God. There were other examples as well, such as Minnie Sype, who was a godly busybody (in the most positive sense of the word) and was busily giving Bible studies, holding meetings, and eventually even raising up churches.
