Exodus 25:8 (NKJV) "And let them make Me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them."
God told Moses to construct a sanctuary according to the pattern that had been shown him in the mountain, that He might dwell among His people. More than a mere dwelling place, the Sanctuary was to the place where God's plan of redemption would be revealed. This plan not included an offerer, an offering and a priest.
