Meaningful prayer meetings should be about prayer, are interesting and include all the participants. Not everyone understands this, and accordingly not every church has prayer meeting, nor does every member attend the prayer meetings that take place. I am aware that there are good reasons for why prayer meetings don't always take place and why not all the members participate—limited time, driving distances, etc. come to mind. However, properly conducted prayer meeting should be among the MOST meaningful services of the week. From what I read, the pastor and church will only succeed with strong prayer support, prayer denotes the spiritual health of the church, and many good things only come in answer to prayer. What better service is there to encourage, educate and support prayer efforts than the prayer meeting. The following resources provide helpful information on the subject.—Dan
