Must we forgive the person who ignorantly offends us and wants to be forgiven?
Luke 17:3-4 (NKJV) "Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. 4 And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day returns to you, saying, ‘I repent,’ you shall forgive him.”
"If your brother does you an injustice ignorantly, and then holds out the hand of fellowship, saying, “If I have erred, and have done you an injury, forgive me,” and you draw away from him, refusing to forgive, you walk away from the great Counselor, and need yourself to repent and be forgiven."—Mrs. E. G. White {SW January 1, 1903, par. 4}
I know it does not seem right or fair to keep forgiving another person, but forgiveness isn't about being fair in relationship with the other person, it is about being right with God!
