This page currently exclusively features the poetry of Joseph Olivier, but over time will include poetry from other authors. Joseph is an earnest college student who loves the Lord Jesus and exudes that love in His poetry.
John 3:16-17 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."
Born in a manger
Was God's Son our Savior
In the midst of the night
The star shining so bright
It lit the whole world
With salvation foretold
With glory and splendor
Which no one could render
We had hope so grim
And we lived in our sin
But He came to save us all
The One who knew us before the fall
So that we may not perish
But His mercy cherish
He lived a life of service
With truth for teaching and boldness
His life remained without a spot
With incorruption that couldn't be bought
He lived a life for all to follow
So that we may have hope if we die tomorrow
He was tempted by darkness
Which once was so spotless
And he did prevail
By conquer of self
For He is the Rock
That broke the deadlock
Which tied us to sin
From the deepness within
He was accused
And withstood the abuse
That was rightfully ours
In His final hours
So He took His last breath
And looked in the sky
He looked down on death
Barely alive
He spoke His last words
“It is finished” He said
Up flew the birds
And down leaned His head
As He laid on the cross
His body was still
He paid the highest cost
Up there on that hill
No bone had been broken
But His blood was shed
And the thorns they had woven
Right unto His head
Then darkness fell over
All of the skies
And we were no longer
Tied to our lives
Now we had life
With freedom in Christ
He broke through our strife
With conviction and light
Life has two roads
That you must follow
With many loads
And many sorrows
Through all the strife
Though many things are said
Some people choose life
And some people choose death
But there is a voice
“Choose life” He says
Please make the right choice
Before you take your last breath
For this He has died
To lift up all people
He is alive
And He made us all equal
He has saved us from our sin
He has made all wrongs right
He has freed us within
To walk in His light
Will you choose all the pain?
Will you take on the toll?
“For what will man gain
If he loses his soul”?
But fear not there's hope
It is Jesus our Lord
By His grace grab the rope
Put your faith in His Word
Christ will be coming
Like never before
Will He find us yawning,
Or ready for war?
To Him trust your lives
To Jesus the Lord
He knows your life
And He knows all the chords
We may not know now
What we will know then
We shall know how
God's Son walked with men
So what is your thesis,
What shall you do?
Knowing that Jesus,
Gave all Himself for you?—Joseph Olivier
Jeremiah 31:3 "The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying: “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you."
Our God is always with us
From the morning to the night
For to Him we are so precious
The apple of His sight
Your Father called you from the womb
He already knew your name
The Power that raised Jesus from the tomb
Has never changed, It has stayed the same
Through It chains are broken
By It we are saved
And by God’s Grace we have been chosen
To one day be forever raised
Through this life we all must tread
But the battle has been won
And it is all because God said:
“I will give for them My Son”
Today again we have a choice
Thanks to the One who could afford
He gave His life and raised His voice
Trust in your Sovereign God and Trust in you Gracious Lord
"When the soul surrenders itself to Christ, a new power takes possession of the new heart. A change is wrought which man can never accomplish for himself. It is a supernatural work, bringing a supernatural element into human nature. The soul that is yielded to Christ becomes His own fortress, which He holds in a revolted world, and He intends that no authority shall be known in it but His own." – Desire of Ages 324.1
